Raised in the red clay hills of north Louisiana, Mike comes from a background rich in southern gospel and bluegrass music. At an early age, he developed his own unique style of singing by listening to groups like the Florida Boys and the Happy Goodman Family. Later on, groups like The Hinsons and the Kingsmen would have a lasting impact on him. Those early years and his love for southern gospel music established deep roots and built a foundation on how God would later use Mike in his music ministry.

In early 2012, Mike felt a calling from the Lord to begin a solo music ministry. After much prayer, God began to open doors and put the right people in his path. Since then, Mike has released three CD projects, Anchor of Hope, All the King's Horses, and his latest release, My Side of the Story. His fourth CD, Another Valley Left Behind, is scheduled to be released on April 1, 2018.

It is his desire that his music will glorify God and encourage listeners. Mike sings from his heart and all of his songs are prayerfully chosen, holding fast to his favorite scripture, Psalm 40:3 "He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God."

Mike and his wife, Phyllis, live in West Monroe, Louisiana.
